What it usually is
Water hammer is a pressure shock when flow stops suddenly, often from loose pipes, high water pressure or a worn-out air chamber or arrestor.
What to do first
Note which fixture triggers the bang. Do not wrap or strap pipes in a way that blocks access; text us a photo of where it seems to come from.
The flat rate that covers it
- Diagnosis / service call (plumbing or electrical): $79
- Anything else: $90/hr
DuPont is a planned, mostly newer community in Pierce County south of Lakewood, with newer homes and townhomes. Newer DuPont homes usually have modern plumbing and wiring, so most calls are for fixtures, water heaters and small electrical jobs.
