What it usually is
Kitchen clogs are usually grease, food scraps or a disposal that is not clearing. If the dishwasher also backs up, the clog may be past the sink trap.
What to do first
Stop running water into the sink. Try a plunger, and avoid mixing drain chemicals, which can splash and make the job harder to do safely.
The flat rate that covers it
- Single drain clearing (accessible cleanout): $189
- Diagnosis / service call (plumbing or electrical): $79
Tacoma is a port city with older Victorian and Craftsman neighborhoods, plus waterfront and industrial areas. Tacoma's older neighborhoods have homes from a long span of eras, so the first thing we look at is what pipe is actually behind the wall.
