What it usually is
Hair and soap build up in the drain and trap below it. If the tub and sink are slow too, the clog may be in the shared line.
What to do first
Remove the strainer or stopper and clear what you can reach with gloves. Avoid mixing drain chemicals.
The flat rate that covers it
- Single drain clearing (accessible cleanout): $189
- Diagnosis / service call (plumbing or electrical): $79
The West End and Proctor area of Tacoma has older homes, a walkable business district and streets lined with mature trees. Mature trees and older sewer lines go together, and roots are a common reason a drain in an older West End home keeps coming back.
